Another show which was brought over by Rock This Joint, showcased a well known Australian born female guitarist Orianthi. She has played for our legendary pop star, the late Michael Jackson & also was in MJ's docu movie 'This Is It'. For the show, I had to produce the P.O.S materials such as posters & flyers, web banners, goodie bags etc.

Another local music event by Nokia held in Zouk KL. As usual, my part was to design the collaterals e.g flyers, collaterals, programme book etc. 3 rooms (Main room, Velvet Underground & Terarce Bar) had been utilised for this. A lot of bands/singer songwriters participated in this joyful 1 day event and the turnout was good. Had a blast as my band was part of it too! 8)

This poster was designed to promote & create awareness among youngsters in Klang Valley that there are such indipendent bands who are as good as or better than the mainstream bands back then. There wasn't really much exposures at that time...so me, and some other members from different bands gathered together to create an awesome show. It was also a stepping stone for the infamous band 'Meet Uncle Hussain' before they become bigger, alongside senior bands like 'Pretty Ugly' & 'Nitrus'...

Every year we have this event called 'Pesta Malam Indonesia' where 5 to 6 top Indonesian bands hit our ground & rocking the stage. So my assignment was to design the creatives for the look of the concert. One of them is the poster. This was the 1st draft which I came out with & been rejected :

And this was the 2nd draft, which also been rejected =)

Finally the sponsors wanted something more serious & straight forward, so this was the final product...which I don't really fancy :(

Basically, this logotype was designed for the event backdrop & the theme was 'retro'. So I came up with a sketch of the visual, scanned & coloured it in Adobe Illustrator.
This was the original sketch of the logotype.

Idea & Concept :
To have a family tree kinda thing as we know that these bands came from the same root which is from Indonesia.

T-Shirt Design -Meet Uncle Hussain (2007)

I did this as a favour for one of the biggest bands in Malaysia in 2007. They asked me if I could design a t-shirt for them & I agreed to do it.

This design was based on one of their hit songs called "Pari-pari Di Bawah Angin" which is somehow related to a fairy or a girl. I came up with an idea of a kinky headless fairy sitting on an old TV and played around with the text and band name. The fairy was actually a photo of my ex girlfriend which I then turned it into an illustration. I found it cool to have an image of a fairy with the band's song title as the head and the TV as a medium to project the band's name.

I also did another option whereby the image of the fairy has been duplicated inside the TV and it was repeated a few times until the image turned really small. This was to represent pop art as the band sounds more to the indie pop/rock genre.

The band liked the idea & concept but somehow it didn't work out due to some finacial matters.

This is my band's mini album cover design. The sunset photo was taken when I was on holiday with my ex girlfriend back in Kuching, Malaysia (Dec 2007) & the band photo was taken individually at our home jamming studio in KL with the help of another photographer friend of mine, Mr. Aris & been photoshop edited. There was no extra or artificial lightings used. I did the whole art direction thingy including the band's photoshoot.
